DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION
INTRODUCTION
The Business Administration department was a foundation department which started in November 2002, with an intake of 20 reggular students, which has grown over 891 (comprising of 640 regular and 251 part time students.)
The Department of Business Administration is the largest in terms of :

ACCREDITATION AND CURRICULUM
The Business Administration program is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Board, and offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with the following options:
1) Accounting
2) Banking and Finance
3) Marketing
4) Human Resource Management
5) Entrepreneurial Studies
We are currently exploring the creation of new options that are releevant to today's financial trends in Ghana.
Our curriculum was revised in 2003, Sep 2004, Sep 2005 and July 2007, to keep up with normal trends in Business education globbally. We have revised our basic and elective curricula to embrace emerging concepts in modern day conventional and internet-based business applications.

INTERNSHIP AND SUMMER PROGRAMMES
Formerly our fifth semester students did internships every Friday, but our revised programme involves active internships by the 5th and 6th semesters during the long vacation.
The department runs a summer programme for workers which now attracts over 300.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT
Four graduates of the ANU Business Administration programme were sponsored in the year 2006 to Karunya University to pursue their Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and three students were sponsored in 2007 to SRM University for further studies.

FUTURE PLANS
The Department plans to begin graduate programmes in BusinessAdministration. There will be 2 tracks for the graduate programme:
1) as a twining programme with SRM University of India
2) as an independent programme affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
Launching into a graduate programme will lead to the creation of our School of Business.

PROPOSALS
To contribute to the development of critical skills for corporate Ghana, we will offer short-term training for managers and supervisors in 2009.
